Design of a distributed
processing computer system for the control of paper
production in a paper mill.
The control system uses a high power computer as
the central master with multiple smaller computer units
each attending to its own local task. All the different
computers communicate with each other on a high speed
link where data is transferred to the central along with
commands from the central. The central also communicates
with other external control systems within the mill on
different communications links allowing for its full
integration in the mill's operations.
